Indication
Nuketo® is indicated in the prevention and therapy of damage due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism in chronic renal insufficiency - particularly during conservative management when there is residual kidney function (CKD stages I, II and III).
Mechanism of action
Ketoanalogues provide the carbon-skeleton form of essential amino acids without the nitrogen load. The body trans-aminates these analogues to their corresponding L-amino acids using endogenous nitrogen - recycling urea nitrogen rather than excreting it. Net effect: protein synthesis is supported without the urea burden that drives uremic symptoms.

Composition
Each Nuketo® tablet contains: Calcium 3-methyl-2-oxovalerate (α-ketoanalogue of isoleucine, calcium salt) 67 mg; Calcium 4-methyl-2-oxovalerate (α-ketoanalogue of leucine) 101 mg; Calcium 2-oxo-3-phenylpropionate (α-ketoanalogue of phenylalanine) 68 mg; Calcium 3-methyl-2-oxobutyrate (α-ketoanalogue of valine) 86 mg; Calcium DL-2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)butyrate (α-hydroxyanalogue of methionine) 59 mg; L-Lysine acetate USP 105 mg; L-Threonine USP 53 mg; L-Tryptophan USP 23 mg; L-Histidine USP 38 mg; L-Tyrosine USP 30 mg. Total nitrogen content per tablet: 36 mg. Calcium content per tablet: 1.25 mmol (≈ 0.05 g).

For Healthcare Professionals
Recommended dose: one tablet per 5 kg body weight per day, taken during meals, for the duration prescribed. Most effective when combined with a structured low-protein diet under renal-dietician oversight. Calorie intake must remain ≥30 kcal/kg/day to avoid catabolism.
