COVERGRAF®

DESCRIPTION
CoverGraf® (Tacrolimus) is a macrolide which is used as a potent immunosuppressant in solid organ transplantation. It belongs to the class of drugs called Calcineurin Inhibitors or CNIs which form the cornerstone of immunosuppressive therapy in patients undergoing kidney, liver or heart transplant. Some studies also support its usage in glomerular diseases and health care specialists use it in such conditions based on their expertise and knowledge.

COMPOSITION
CoverGraf® 0.5 : Each hard gelatin capsule contains Tacrolimus 0.5 mg I.P.
CoverGraf® 1 : Each hard gelatin capsule contains Tacrolimus 1 mg I.P.
INDICATION
CoverGraf® is indicated for the prophylaxis of organ rejection, in patients receiving allogeneic kidney transplant, liver transplants and heart transplant, in combination with other immunosuppressants.
DOSAGE
Kidney Transplant : 0.1 to 0.2 mg/kg/day divided in two doses, administered every 12 hours
Liver Transplant     : 0.1 to 0.15 mg/kg/day divided in two doses, administered every 12 hours
Heart Transplant    : 0.075 mg/kg/day divided in two doses, administered every 12 hours
The dosage is decided upon the usage and dosage of concomitant immunosuppressants, corticosteroids and induction agents used in soild organ transplants. A schematic monitoring of trough levels of CoverGraf® (Tacrolimus) is done post-transplant to adjust the dosage which varies from patient to patient.
